Chris Trask, N7ZWY, has deconstructed a range of switching mixers ranging from the familiar diode double balanced mixer to the acclaimed H-Mode mixer. He has reconstructed the basic operating principles into a very simple but high performance topology that has only one transformer and a package of inexpensive CMOS bus switches.
